What a glorious fall wedding for Kristin and Ryan. The weather was perfect for outdoor pictures on the grounds of Southeast Christian Church. I love taking photos on the steps behind the church where you can catch the blue reflection off the many windows. The guys were very feisty which lead to some great photo ops. After the ceremony, we made a stop off at the Hurstbourne Country Club to take a few photos with the bridal party and then it was off to the Olmstead. Their cake was gorgeous with the delicate white flowers created by Mert's Cakes. Kenny with Master's of Music kept the reception lively and was the perfect MC for the evening. There was even a surprise visit from the UofL Cardinal Bird, who is quite a good dancer. It was a magical evening all the way up to the sparkler exit.
Dominque + Sean = Noah's Event Venue Wedding
I'm back to blogging. It has been quite some time. I have been concentrating on family and my primary career, but I just can't give up weddings. I love them. It is my creative outlet. It is the best day of most people's life and I feel grateful that my couples chose me to capture that special day. While I am not currently doing photography full time I am booking a small number of weddings.
This is the wedding of Dominique and Sean that was this past fall at Noah's Event Venue. It was my first time working at this venue and I was very impressed with the space. They even had a cool room for the guys including a pool table and shuffleboard. The ceremony was held on the patio area right off the side of the venue. It was an extremely beautiful day with a surplus of sunshine for sure. Enjoy these pictures and I promise to be blogging much more frequently. Take care.
Dominique + Shawn = The Parklands at Floyd's Fork Engagement Photos
Meet Dominique & Shawn who will be getting married next October at the new east end wedding venue, Noah's Event Venue. Shawn & Dominique wanted to be sure to take their photos during the fall to capture those rich colors and there is no better park than The Parkland's at Floyd's Fork. I enjoyed tromping through the woods, taking turns with all the photographers at the extremely popular barn area, and just getting to know these two just a little bit better. Here are just a few of the photos that I picked as my favorites from the evening.
Thanks Dominique and Shawn for spending a beautiful fall evening with me taking photos. I am looking forward to your wedding next fall :)
Jenny + Lauressa = Central Park & Big Four Bridge Engagement Photos
Meet Jenny and Lauressa. There are going to marry this March at the Jeffersontown Community Center. During our first meeting we were discussing their engagement session and they asked if they could turn their photo session into a family session and of course I replied that we can do both. I had such an enjoyable evening getting to know their family and I am even more looking forward to their wedding because of it. Below is a few of my favorites from the day.
Ashley + Jennifer = Fall Engagement Photos at the Parklands
Meet Jennifer and Ashley. They are getting married next October at The Foundry at Glassworks. We enjoyed a fall evening taking engagement photos in Nulu on Market Street and then at the Parklands at Floyd's Fork. I had such an enjoyable evening getting to know these two better. We found out that we all had a great love for Taco Punk and were crushed when they closed. I could talk about this in great length, but I will only say that my heart broke when I could not longer order their guacamole and queso. Anyway, I am super stoked about Jennifer and Ashley's wedding next fall and being able to photograph at one of my very favorite venues again, The Foundry at Glassworks. Below is just a few of my favorites from that Louisville engagement session :)
Brandon + Gelina = A Great Gatsby Themed Wedding
Meet Gelina and Brandon. During our pre-wedding planning meeting we were ironing out the final details of the timeline for the big day, Brandon mentioned how excited he was about the wedding and he was almost as excited to have his home back after all the wedding decor was out of the house (of course he said this in the kindest way possible). Gelina informed me that they were planning on decorating every day leading up to the wedding. They had chosen to have a Great Gatsby themed wedding. Meanwhile, I was thinking to myself this sounds interesting and I was looking forward to seeing all that Gelina & Brandon had planned.
On the wedding day, I was blown away by all the details, glitz, and glamour that Gelina & Brandon had packed into their church. The motif was black and gold with crystals, feathers, beading, and sequins. There was a photo booth for their guests to enjoy. A gentleman played the piano during the reception. The Louisville Chocolate Fountain had a delicious buffet of white and milk chocolate with fruits and treats for everyone to savor. They had postcards that they invited their guests fill out to help create them a bucket list. And the cake table was completely over-the-top. Brandon had a few dozen doughnuts, there was cupcakes, and a gorgeous cake with their monogram displayed. It was a great celebration with friends and family.
Gelina & Brandon - thanks for choosing me to be your Louisville wedding photographer. I enjoyed spending the day with you and I am so glad that you set aside an hour after the reception for us to go downtown to photograph. Best Wishes.
