When it rains it pours. . . literally. Ashley and Nathaniel know this better than anyone. They chose to have a small, intimate ceremony in front of the mansion at My Old Kentucky Home with a limited number of very close family members and friends in attendance. Up until the ceremony the weather was questionable with a few raindrops here and there. Lucky, the sun decided to peak out right before the ceremony and it was decided to cue the musicians and the ceremony would commence. And it was beautiful right up until the very moment the officiate pronounced them husband and wife. Without warning the rain came pelting down sending everyone scurrying for shelter.
Ashley and Nathaniel chose to have ICVideo capture their day as well to tell the complete story of the day. I am sure that it was very comical from anyone looking on because we were all scrambling around trying to gather all of our camera and audio equipment from being damaged. And the musicians, Highland Chamber Players, had water all in their instruments. We were all drenched.
The good news is that the downpour last only fifteen minutes. The couple was then ready for their grand entrance where all their friends and extended family greeted them on the patio waving sparklers in the air. The reception was filled with laughter, heart-felt speeches, tender moments, and lots of dancing under the rotunda. It was a great day!!!
