Meet Dana & Chris who were married this summer. Last year I had the pleasure of photographing Dana's sister Sara's wedding, which made this wedding even more enjoyable because I was familiar with the whole family. Chris and Dana wed at the Church of Ascension. Photos began that day with the gentleman giving me all kinds of suggestions. They were a fun bunch that insisted that we do a jumping picture that turned out great. The ladies were all smiles and giggles. They were quick to strike a pose. Dana looked absolutely gorgeous in her wedding dress that she purchased from the wonderful ladies at the Couture Closet Bridal Boutique. After the ceremony, the bridal party hopped on a trolley to travel to the Louisville Marriott East. Photos began with each member of the bridal party dancing into the room. Teague Ridge with Ridgerock Entertainment cued the song "Shut Up and Dance" by Walk the Moon and the happy couple exploded into the room and the guests erupted in cheers. After an incredible plated dinner prepared by the catering staff at the Louisville Marriott East, Audrey Petty the events manager helped with the cake cutting ceremony that lead into wonderful speeches by the bride's sister and groom's brother. The highlight of the evening had to be a choreographed dance number performed by the whole bridal party that ended with Dana jumping into Chris's arms. It was a joyous celebration and I am so happy that I was able to capture yet another Horstman family wedding.
Sherry & John were married this past spring at the Caldwell Chapel which is described by the Louisville Seminary as having traditional and contemporary symbols of faith blended together. Ceremonies at this chapel are recognizable by its stain glass blocks that run from floor to the very top of the ceiling making the altar stunning. The women began getting ready in a suite at the Marriott Louisville East that boasts a Bourbon Trail theme throughout. The lobby is comprised mostly of glass walls letting in lots of natural light making it perfect for bridal party pictures. The gentleman were lucky that the clouds parted briefly for us to take pictures in front of the " Perpendicular Gothic" chapel. The beautiful ceremony was captured by ICVideo to provide the couple with a lasting memory they can watch any time they wish. After the ceremony officiated by Bob Mueller, who had the bride and groom and audience chuckling at a few moments, the bridal party hopped in a limo heading back to the Marriott East. The Marriott Louisville East offers 17 meeting spaces and Audrey Petty the venue coordinator is so welcoming and helpful. I always look forward to working at this great venue. Sherry and John's reception was held on the second floor. Jill Doyle with J. Elizabeth Designs decorated the venue with hues of pink and gray. Romantic candle light, rose and hydrangea centerpieces, and rose petals decorated the tables. Kenny Sauter with Masters of Music completed the look with pink up lighting that changed into a rainbow of colors once the dance music began. After all the formal events Kenny started the dance party and everyone joined in. It is always such a pleasure to work with such a professional DJ who is not only a great emcee but wonderful at keeping the excitement going throughout the reception. It makes my job easy. The highlight of the evening was John's brother doing his impersonation of Elvis on the dance floor at the end of the evening.
Thanks John and Sherry for spending the day with me. John you have a great smile. I enjoyed being your Louisville wedding photographer. Here are a few of my favorites from the day.
Here are just a few pictures from Kayla and Cody's wedding day. The weather was quite questionable the day of their wedding and while knowing that most of the pictures may be taken inside I suggested to do the bridal prep at a nice hotel. The couple chose to book rooms at the Marriot East close to their venue at Shelbyhurst. The 4 Diamond Luxury Marriot East was perfect. The bourbon themed upscale hotel made for beautiful plan B alternative.
