Meet Tara and Ellis. I had the pleasure of spending an evening last week with these two photographing their Parklands of Floyds Fork engagement photos. They are getting married next month at the Ice House. Weddings at this venue tend to have an urban chic ambiance and the Ice House has the largest rooftop event space for a perfect outdoor ceremony. Tara and Ellis meet in college at the University of Louisville. It took me about a month to realize that Ellis was a former UofL basketball star. He is so tall and his name just sounded so familiar I Googled him (nothing gets past me :) I am really looking forward to their downtown Louisville wedding because I get to work with Cory Leonardo again with Party Zone Productions. If Cory is DJing it is guaranteed to be a great celebration. Also, this will be one of the largest bridal parties I have ever photographed and I am up for the challenge. Thanks Ellis and Tara for choosing me to be your Louisville wedding photographer and you definitely have a "spark" between you two which is evident in the pictures below.
Remember the Snowmeggadon???? That was exactly days before Becki and Chris's wedding. I can't lie I was a little worried, but when the big day rolled around the roads were clear and there were no worries for this Louisville wedding photographer. The snow actually made the photos quite beautiful and unique. The couple chose the Church of Ascension to wed. This church is coming up on its 50th anniversary next year and has gorgeous stain glass windows. After all the family portraits we made our way over to the Woodhaven Country Club. Wedding photographs are always very scenic with their lake view, water fountains, and manicured landscaped golf course. Lisa and the Woodhaven staff was very welcoming and served a delicious dinner. Afterwards, Corey Leonardo with Party Zone Productions kicked off the receptions formal events. The guests got to know the couple a little bit better because of Party Zone's Newlyweds Game. The crowd was in an uproar over the expected and unexpected answers. As always it was a pleasure working with Corey and I love having his packed dance floor to photograph.
Thanks Becki and Chris for including me in your special day and for choosing me to be your Louisville wedding photographer. I wish you all the best!!
The spectacular wedding of Samantha and Michael.
The day began with gloomy clouds and a bitterness to the air but right before the ceremony the clouds parted and the sun peaked out to shine down on this fabulous couple illuminating them as they declared their vowel to one another. Samantha and Michael were so excited that they chose the Icehouse for their wedding venue. It boasts the largest rooftop for a ceremony, a great space for an outdoor cocktail hour, and a huge main hall area complete with a stage, a mezzanine, and an awesome bar that lights up. Ice House even has their own in house caterer, Crushed Ice Events that created a wonderful dinner. Michael and Samantha were sure they picked the perfect venue to celebrate their nuptials.
The Icehouse is a great space but it was absolutely stunning for Samantha & Michael’s wedding thanks to the talents of Paul Latham and Alex Hunnicutt with Fleur de Lis Events & Design. Not only did Paul and Alex plan and coordinate the entire wedding, they designed the floral and décor that wowed all the guests. The walls were painted with a vibrant blue hue, huge white lanterns and crystals descending from the ceiling drew everyone eyes to the center, and tables were accented with beautiful centerpieces overflowing with white feathers and orchids. It was unbelievable.
Corey with Party Zone Productions had the reception rockin until late into the night and provided great entertainment. Samantha and Michael had a special surprise for their guests with a choreographed dance featuring several hip hop songs that had their guest roaring. The couple made the great decision to contract ICVideo to capture all the excitement throughout the day and will be able to relive all the fun for years to come. Check back for the couples highlight to be posted :) Here are a few of my favorites from the wedding photographs at Icehouse.
